En l’air Ballet Company
En l’air is a pre-professional ballet company for girls and boys ages 8-17. Directed by Courtney Lapressi, this ensemble will perform historic variations from Swan Lake, Paquita and La Bayadere, with the chance to perform en pointe. En l’air will meet on Saturday’s from 12:15-2:15 to prepare pieces for performances throughout the area.
Who is Courtney Lapressi?
Courtney began her training in Upstate New York at the age of 5. After training with the Rochester City Ballet, and teaching through most of her High School career, Courtney was accepted to The University of the Arts as a Ballet major. Upon graduation in May of 2011, Courtney will receive a BFA in Ballet emphasizing in Choreography. Although she is primarily a ballet dancer, Courtney is also trained in the modern techniques of Horton, and Graham. She has performed with companies such as the North Carolina Dance Theatre, The Buffalo Dance Crop, and continually represents the Pennsylvania Ballet for promotional events. During the summer of 2009, Courtney was given the privilege of interning for BalletX, and the following year, she was invited to join ProjectALT Aerial Dance Company. Courtney has performed in many Philadelphia theatres including the Kimmel Center, The Merriam and the Arts Bank.
